For many people, this was the first time they had ever heard about hepatitis B. The response was overwhelming — communities are asking for more screening and care.

ADILO launched the “STOP HEPATITIS B” campaign to tackle rising hepatitis B infection rates in Mali, where the virus affects nearly 15% of the population. With support from the Hepatitis B Foundation, this campaign focused on increasing public awareness, combating misinformation, encouraging screening, and advocating for vaccination—especially in underserved communities.aria.
Key Activities & Impact
- 1,000 posters distributed in health centers and public spaces
- Campaign materials translated into Manding language
- Radio broadcasts in local languages reached over 15,000 people
- A roundtable broadcast featuring a medical expert reached 3 million listeners
- Door-to-door awareness sessions reached 1,000+ individuals
- Social media content reached 10,000 people, with 1,000 likes, 500 shares, and 1,000 comments
- Two days of voluntary screening saw 300 people tested

Challenges
- Limited funding meant not all interested individuals could be screened or vaccinated
